Johan Herder
A Life Architect & Visual Storyteller
Founder of Reboot360 | Creative Director of Eleven Monkeys
Filmmaker. Movement guide. Ceremonialist. Seeker. Johan creates spaces — both on screen and in life — where people can come home to themselves.
Born in the Netherlands and raised Frisian, Johan’s early life revolved around the fast lane: work, parties, material gain — and eventually, burnout. Depression cracked his world open. That breakdown became his breakthrough.
He let everything go: his job, house, possessions, and old patterns. What followed was a radical journey of recalibration and remembrance.

From the Balkans to the Amazon — A Path of Embodied Initiation
Johan’s journey began in the rugged stillness of the Balkans, where he lived for months with almost no money — stripped of comfort, yet rich in reflection. It was there, disconnected from the systems, that the first layers of social conditioning began to fall away.
His path then led him to Brazil, where he was first introduced to the powerful plant medicine Ayahuasca. This deeply transformative experience opened the door to a new way of seeing, feeling, and living. In time, he encountered Kambo — the secretion of a frog — and was initiated into its potent healing traditions under the guidance of his Brazilian master practitioner.
After his immersion in the Amazon rainforest, Johan continued his integration process in South Africa, where he lived for six months in close connection with nature, ceremony, and community — grounding the insights gained in the jungle into embodied daily practice.
The journey expanded when he met his Qi-Yo master in Croatia. What followed was an extended pilgrimage through China, Nepal, and Mexico, where he studied movement, energy systems, and the body as an instrument of transformation.
This was not a straight path — but a living initiation. A letting go of everything false, and a return to what is real. A journey that became a practice — and a practice that became his life’s work.
Rhythm in Motion and Cycling as Meditation
Beyond the dojo and the camera, Johan finds his rhythm in nature — especially on two wheels. A dedicated gravel cyclist, he sees every ride as a moving meditation: a blend of breath, focus, and freedom. It’s not just sport — it’s soul training, and part of his daily commitment to self-discipline, joy, and embodied presence.
Eleven Monkeys: the Art of Integration
Through his film company Eleven Monkeys, Johan creates cinematic portraits, short documentaries, and ritual-based visual stories that honor transformation. For him, the camera is not just a tool — it’s a mirror.
He works with facilitators, seekers, and soul-driven creatives to visually anchor their personal journeys, preserving moments of breakthrough in timeless, soul-crafted films.
“Your Journey. Your Rhythm. Your Film.”
Whether you walk into a retreat or step in front of the camera, the intention is the same:
To live your essence.
To honor your path.
To remember who you are — and pass that memory forward.
